About
Daniel Weiermann has designed lights for dance, theatre and opera for over 20 years. He holds an MFA in Lighting Design from Northern Illinois University and spent the following 10+ years designing and consulting in and around Chicago.
Since relocating to the Bay Area, Dan has worked as the Operations and Production Manager for East Bay Center for the Performing Arts and as Outside Lighting Sales for DTC Grip & Electric. He is also an adjunct professor at Dominican University teaching Dance Production. He currently is the Production Manager for Boxcar Theater in San Francisco.
His design work in the Bay Area includes LINES Ballet Training Program Performance Company, ODC Pilot Program, Ragged Wing Ensemble, ZiRu Productions, Ballet22 and Alayo Dance. His work at Oakland Ballet Five Decades of Dance, at the Paramount Theatre resulted in them receiving “Izzie” (Isadora Duncan Dance Awards) and collaborations with Robert Moses, Amy Seiwert and Graham Lustig.
Theatre installation projects include CounterPulse in San
Francisco, Berkeley Unified School District and Flight Deck
Theatre in Oakland.
When he has some downtime, Dan enjoys teasing the wind
with stunt kites, catching an Indie film festival and leaping
over obstacles doing Parkour.
